power outage

today i woke up to awful weather. and if you think that the hot, humid tropical day is bad... think again!

it was raining - freezing rain to be exact. and so there's a layer of frozen ice on the ground. and some slushy white snow-wannabe ice flakes. scheming decoy for the slippery layer beneath. obviously, i took forever to walk to any place since i was paranoid about falling over and getting bruised in the rain! not very glam either.

never mind the rain and stuff, i was fooled into steppin into a puddle of water about 5 inches deep. you see, the ice floating above kinda made it seem like 'hey! solid ground let me walk on it.' so my shoes and socks were soaked inside out and its FREEEEEEZING cold. i wanted to disown my feet.

dumped my wonderful plans to go downtown and fled back to the dorm.

i had to cancel my dinner date with a friend because of the horrid weather. Poor Pam! :( and poor me.

then when you thought that staying toasty in the dorm was the best thing to do, the power went out. at 8pm. which was OC time. and so, i slept. bounced about without a torch (which they called flashlight here). took a shower in the dark. and ate lots of peanut butter jelly sandwich. i m not complainin bout that. :)

i m so grateful for franklin's discovery. especially when it snows.

winter is no fun. eeeeek.
