i concede

yesterday, charlottesville was as gloomy as liverpool. or maybe a KL moment in the monsoon calendar. it has been that way for the past days and i honestly think that the lack of sunshine is nothing to be excited about.

but that wasn't the main point.

i had to go food-shopping for a (fantabulous) women's center event that my friend and i were putting up later in the evening. so, i sped to the nearest grocery store (harris teeter was its name), pushed a gigantic cart around grabbing cookies, muffins, cutlery and cartons of canned drinks and bottled water, paid, loaded stuff into trunk of car and sped to the venue.

the rain had gotten a little more aggressive and so there i was, parked illegally by the bus-stop near the chapel. (please note that i just paid a fine for parking more than 1 foot away from curb - the authorities take their parking very seriously.) fortunately, i ran into bailey who helped me reduce the number of trips i had to take in the rain - back and forth with HEAVY items.

to cut a longer story short, it was quite an ordeal. i basically lifted and carried and i was sooooooo tired after that. (the lack of food since morning might have contributed to it but i am not the fittest either way.)

so, when i finally made it into our dining hall at around 2:30pm, i proclaimed to ayisha and bailey that i needed someone in my life. yes, i concede.

there was no way i could handle heavy-lifting of household items i.e. fruits, water, laundry detergent etc. alone.

mom, kudos to you every thursday night!

babe,

sorry to disappoint, but i can assure you that 'someone's' tend to NOT help with heavy lifting and the like. the only time boys will even hold my bag is when i've to tie a shoelace or something. or when one whine incessantly for a good ten minutes - only then do they reluctantly take over.

ergo, you shouldn't have conceded!!
