transcending human woes
i was chatting with stephanie, one of my library supervisors and we talked about the house-sitting her brother/sister-in-law's place a few weeks ago.
stephanie is not a big fan of cats and apparently there are TWO feuding felines in the household. one of them is a little pudgy and so, she is on A CAT DIET. yes, CAT DIET. the vet put her on a diet and stephanie's sister-in-law bought pudgy cat (PC) some DIET CAT FOOD. i.e. reduced calorie cat food. fat free perhaps? aspartame-infused cat treats anyone?
i could not believe what i was hearing and felt incredibly sympathetic for PC. she's a cat and is suffering from one of our crazy human woes! i am sure we can allow for some kinda pudginess among animals? PC isn't at risk for heart disease. it was just that she's fat(ter). poor thing.
anyway, stephanie was trying to switch food bowls for PC and she freaked out (probably because she was afraid that stephanie was taking away her reduced portion/calorie meal). so she bit stephanie like woah.
so the next time we're told to look like kate moss, perhaps we should bite.
happy holidays!
