the MET metropolitan museum of art new york

arent you glad that i am on a blogathon? well well well, as mentioned in preludish post. i am gonna give you a tour of my 3 week stint in happening new york. and this is one magnificent museum. the Metropolitan Museum of Art. happeningly known as the MET. cool stuff. except for the fact that it was TOO huge to be true. and i was comparing it with the Singapore Art Museum. which i visited with Sheena while on my touristy mode during the last weeks in Singapore b4 heading off to dear ol UVa. anyway, yes... not bad ah.

so 1st pic, ha. i m tryin to be The Scream. by Edward Munch. they were having an Van Gogh exhibition. according to jem (who corrected my error), munch had a huge influence on van gogh. go munch! thanks jem - hah. traced his different periods of painting as influenced by his depression and the flower craze etc. :)

then we have some Egyptian temple. real blocks ok! :) shipped to new york.

then my favourite european art piece. Madame X. who was painted by Sargent. apparently, the 1st picture was a scandalouser version. had one strap of her dress down. caused some uproar. so he modified it! :)

there's me in the foreground of the American House display. :) lovely! and then there's another one of me in front of something i cant recall. ha.

anyway, the Met was crazy business. but at night we headed to Broadway to catch our 1st show! my 1st one anyway... more pics to come!
