the weather outside is frightful...

yes! if you haven't noticed my countdown ticker on my gchat status, i should let you know that i am incredibly excited about dec 24th because:

a) it's CHRISTMAS

and

b) it marks my last day at work for 2009

my repeating countdown ticker is making people think that i am writing binary because i have turned into an IT geek. i am somewhat geeky but not THAT geeky. binary is still a tad beyond me. it's painfully cold outside and my collection of office appropriate sweaters needs to be expanded. actually, that applies to my collection of office appropriate items in general. 

i have tried to get into the festivity that surrounds the holiday season - i bought my first 3-feet tall Christmas tree! it's gloriously fake and short :) the real trees are way overpriced and i figured that by the time the tree is fully decorated, it might be New Year's. so, real pine tree will just need to wait till 2010. jae suggested that i just spray some pine tree lysol to make it real. i think i shall. 

but on a more serious note, i miss home so much! i recently visited the national cathedral for a Christmas carols concert. it was so perfect - the setting was beautiful and the voices of the choirs were unbelievable. and the pipe organs, SO MAJESTIC and AMAZING. it has been a while since i felt such tranquility on a sunday afternoon because my thoughts are often preoccupied with bluesy mondayness. i loved it. and i wish you were all here with me because 'tis the season for a much needed REUNION.
