happiness & some madness

i had the luxury of a 4-day weekend and workless days never felt so good in my life. you're right, i am literally tied to the office desks for unspeakable hours (well, some might debate that). except that my office desks can swing from virginia to maryland. we'll see if i can land myself in california.

during my extended labor day weekend, i had my OLD friend mavis visit the grand capital city of washington, dc! technically, she came to visit her special boy but same difference. we decided that we still shared many common crazies from our time in tkgs. clearly, food was one of them - and that weekend was A FEAST. loved it. i also took some pictures of a "dessert party" at my place.

then, the weekend disappeared and people are trickling back from their summer breaks and traffic is a PAIN. today, i thought i was going to die while driving. let's face it, i thought i was going to get slammed by one of these ruthless drivers at speeds of 65 mph/110kmh and that's it, that's the end of me. i drive in kl, and i think it's brutal. but metro dc drivers, some of you are just so high-strung, i feel bad for your bloodstream because you're probably releasing 300,000 evil hormones/things that are nibbling your health away. to give you an example, i was trying to get into the right lane to exit because yes, i need to get onto the highway. and there was a line building up and i couldn't merge in time (because cars are zooming) and i can't possibly stall on the left lane since no one would let me into the right. so... i go some distance further, hoping that someone would let me in and i get to maybe 0.1/0.2 miles from the exit. and literally, we were honked at, glared at and just weren't let into the lane. i must admit that there are people who intentionally cut the line and maybe, yes you deserve the glaring etc. but this dude, glared at me, made crazy gestures and SIMPLY wouldn't let me in front of his prius. buddy, there are also people who couldn't MERGE in time because of the construction/roads. he must have been very peeved that the (nice) fella behind him felt pity for me and let me go. the irony of the prius meanhead - aren't you supposed to love peace, spending all that money on your green hybrid car? funny how people care more for the environment than sanity. it was a battlefield. and times like these, i wish i had A BIG BAD HUMMER.

malaysian drivers are nasty, but this is just HIGH-STRUNG numero uno. people, you need to calm down. or i just need a BIGGER car.

i know i threw in a dozen stereotypes in there but meh, i try.

anyhow, some pictures to soothe the mind...
