mini apple

hello folks, the windy city has been rather kind but she definitely lives up to her reputation - my face feels like it's gonna crack any minute. but it's all good.

right now, i am all about breathing in the metropolitan air that i have been deprived of since forever. what can i say - i love the city. but chicago is rather different. the people smile at you whenever you catch their glance. which is nice. and people do hold out doors for you. which is also very nice. but the skip the 'hello how are ya doing' conversation preface before getting down to business. which i think is more 'efficient' especially when i am in a rush. so it's an eclectic blend of the genial midwest (according to mavis, midwest folks are nice) and the city funk.

i hear jazz blaring from almost every other building. i think that's their muzak. but i have yet to enter jazz showcase (which very very oddly forbids under-21s to enter but kids are ok, if brought by their parents).

i had chinese food cooked by a hongkong chef. some amazing deep-dish pizza (think pan pizza but the REAL deal crunchy crust).

and the art institute of chicago = i like.

funnily, shopping isn't a priority. i like that too.

mavis' corny (and singlish) punch lines crack me up daily. feels like a shot of good ol' espresso - refreshing. :)

goodnight.

p/s: no one's driving you around sheela! and jennani, go play in the sun! :) heh.
