les pommes

last friday evening, a bunch of lovely people rode to carter's mountain (about 20 minutes from where i live) to pick apples. it struck me that i didn't have a clue about the whole apple-picking process. seriously, i don't even know how an apple tree looks like. the apple tree is nothing but a figment of my imagination. i have been told that apples do grow on trees. that sums up my knowledge of apple trees.

apple-picking doesn't even occur in my dreams. it's such a bizarre concept that when i realized i was about to do that, it seemed surreal.

BUT, it's such fun! i think i overstretched my non-existent abdomen (it's just flab now) - it hurts till today. we picked golden delicious which is green but tastes better than all your reds. jennani was really thrilled to pick the forbidden fruit - which according to her is the pink lady, but they were nowhere in sight.

from carter's mountain, you can see the city of charlottesville (the UVa hospital juts out like a block of white wall) and i loved it. the mountains are great! then i bought plenty of yummy apple caramel cookies and apple donuts. SO GOOD. yums.

come to charlottesville and you'll get what i mean. additionally, you can contribute to the buy-munyuk-a-car fund so i can drive you places when you come. heh.
